Fall Break STEAM Labs

Tuesday, Oct. 10 – Friday, Oct. 13  |  10 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. daily

Spend Fall Break exploring light, color, coding and robotics with these daily workshops. Parent can stay or drop-off. Register for one day or the entire week! Save by registering for the entire week.

ArtVille Academy

Thursday, Oct. 12 - Thursday, Nov. 16 | 9:30 a.m. - 12 p.m.

The i.d.e.a. Museum is devoted to help young children and families prepare for a smooth and successful transition into school. Join us on a learning adventure with an engaging curriculum combining literacy, art, science and math. The 6-week series - taking place on Thursdays - will introduce different themes and activities each week to inspire a curiosity for learning and develop the skills children will need for school.

Ages: 3 – 5 (Child must be toilet trained)

Cost: Members $75; Nonmember $90

Family Friday: Robo-lab

Friday, Oct. 13 | 5 p.m. - 6 p.m.

You’re invited to play! Start your weekend off on the right gear with this fun family workshop where you can learn and experiment together coding with Ozobots, building with Hexbugs, racing with Spheros and more.

Ages: 5 - 12

Cost: Members, $8; Nonmembers, $16 (Adults included with admission of a child)

 

 

Multi-Generational Mask Workshop

Saturday, Oct. 14 | 10 a.m. – 11:30 a.m.

Enjoy making masks and telling stories that honor grandparents.  This activity leads up to the Prototyping Festival coming to downtown Mesa Nov. !7-18.

Homeschool Historians: Edvard Munch

Wednesday, Oct. 18 | 10 a.m. - 11:30 a.m.

Celebrate the spooky holiday with a look at the haunting work of Expressionist Edvard Munch. Homeschool Historians occurs every third Wednesday of the month, introducing a different famous artist, movement, and fine art technique every month. *Registration fee includes 1 participating child, 1 adult and siblings under age 5. Activities for siblings under age 5 are included. Each additional participating child ages 5 and older must pay registration fee. Save by registering for the entire series.

Infant Messy Creations: Art in Nature

Thursday, October 26 | 10 a.m. - 10:30 a.m.

Inspire young artists in nature by joining us as we create art by rolling, spraying, sticking and stamping with plants. *Child must be accompanied by adult.

Cost: Members, $5; Nonmembers, $13 (registration includes museum admission)

Parents Night Out: Fright Night

Friday, October 27 | 6:30 p.m. - 9:30 p.m.

What happens in the museum at night? Drop-off your kids for a fun evening in the museum after-hours with spooky themed activities and museum exploration. We’ll take care of dinner and entertainment while you enjoy a night out.

Ages: 4+ (child must be toilet trained)

Cost: Members, $15; Nonmembers, $20 for first child, $15 for each additional sibling *Call for sibling discount registration

STEAM Kids: Spooky STEAM

Experience the mystery of science in this spectacular workshop. Join us if you dare to create eyeball slime, build bridges from bones, make fizzing potions and more.

Messy Creations: Dirt, Germs and Worms

Saturday, Nov. 4 | 10 a.m. - 10:45 a.m.

Calling all mini entomologists, join us as we dig for worms, make edible dirt and learn about personal health. Roll your sleeves up, it’s going be a dirty one. *Child must be accompanied by adult.

Robo-Lab

Friday, Nov. 24 | 9 a.m. - 12 p.m.

Your child loves to play, and you love to get those Black Friday deals – we got you covered. We’ll keep them engaged with Ozobots, Hexbugs, Dash and Dot and more while you can drop them off or stay and play. *Snack will be provided.

Artists across time have used food as inspiration in their art. Join us as we explore the work of artists such as Paul Cezanne and Giuseppe Arcimboldo and try creating your own food masterpiece.
