Registration for all programs, classes and workshops goes through the city’s Active Registration System. If you don’t have an account, request an account here.

    April 

     

    ArtVille Academy

    Thursday, April 5 – Thursday, May 10 | 9 a.m. – 11:30 a.m.

    Register

    The i.d.e.a. Museum is devoted to helping young children and families prepare for a smooth and successful transition into school. Join us on a learning adventure with an engaging curriculum combining literacy, art, science and math. The 6-week series that occurs on Thursdays will introduce different themes and activities each week to inspire a curiosity for learning and develop the skills children will need for school.

    Ages: 3 – 5 *Child must be toilet trained

    Cost: Members $75; Nonmember $90

    Min: 8, Max: 15

    Homeschool Historians: Color and Texture

    Wednesday, April 18 | 10 a.m. - 12 p.m.

    Series Registration

    Join us as we experiment with moods using color, texture and value. Learn from the master, Kandinsky and artists from the Sonoran Safari exhibit, then apply these skills to a painting of your own. Homeschool Historians occurs every 3rd Wednesday of the month, introducing a different famous artist, movement, and fine art technique each month.

    Note: Register for the 4-month series to save on registration and learn all 7 Elements of Art. Registration fee includes 1 participating child, 1 adult and siblings under age 5. Activities for siblings under age 5 are included. Each additional participating child ages 5 and older must pay registration fee.

    Multi-generational Mother’s Day Tea Party

    Join us as we celebrate Mothers and Grandmothers with this Mother’s Day Tea Party. We will create cucumber sandwiches, decorate a mug for the woman of honor, sip tea and build memories. *Each participant must register. Registration includes admission.

    Homeschool Historians: Art Handling

    Wednesday, May 16 | 10 a.m. - 12 p.m.

    We’re wrapping up the season with a special workshop on careers in the arts and exhibition installation. Participants will get a chance to handle artwork, matte their artwork made in previous Homeschool Historians workshops and install an exhibition of their art in the museum.     We’re cooling off and kicking off the first day of summer break with an ice cream social! Smash ice blocks, paint with icicles and make ice cream from scratch!

    Join us as we celebrate Fathers and Grandfathers with this Father’s Day Tinkershop. Fathers, Grandfathers and children will enjoy a morning creating and experiencing together with hands on activities including creating a buzz bot. *Each participant must register. Registration includes admission.

    Ever wonder how stuff is made? Wonder camp is for inspiring curiosity and creativity through hands-on fun! Join us for hands-on STEAM projects inspired by our summer exhibition, as we investigate the world around us and our roles as agents of innovation.
