Infant Messy Creations: Little Leprechauns

Register

It’s a lucky day to explore all things sensory with a green theme. Littles will get messy while creating artwork after a story about a leprechaun. Take a stroll through the Caped Crusaders and Everyday Heroes exhibit afterward to find the artworks that contain green.  Registration includes all-day museum admission for both parent and child.

Although smocks are provided, you may want to bring a change of clothes for the young art maker.

Ages: 6 months – 24 months; child must be accompanied by adult.

Messy Creations: Stamp, Drip and Print

Register

Stamp, drip and print your way into the Spring holiday! Young makers will stamp and drip paint from eggs, print with potatoes and create themed art that can be displayed every year! Registration includes all-day museum admission for both parent and child.

Although smocks are provided, you may want to bring a change of clothes for the young art maker.

Ages: 2 – 5; child must be accompanied by adult.

Movie Day: Big Hero 6

Friday April 14, 10 a.m. – 1 p.m.

Calling all high-tech heroes! Join us on Spring Holiday for a heroic showing of Big Hero 6. After enjoying the flick and a buttery snack with Hiro and Baymax, try out your robotic skills with marshmallow bots and coding activities. Movie day will conclude with a special visit from SMCC Storytelling Institute. Open seating available until room capacity is reached.

Cost: Free with admission; registration not required.

Homeschool Historians: Andy Warhol

Register

Learn about Andy Warhol’s iconic Pop Art. Get inspired by pop art found in the Caped Crusaders and Everyday Heroes exhibit and create screen printed artwork of your own. Homeschool Historians occurs every third Wednesday of the month introducing a different famous artist, art movement and fine art technique every month.

Registration fee includes 1 participating child, 1 adult and siblings under age 5. Activities for siblings under age 5 are included. Each additional participating child ages 5 and older must pay registration fee.

Ages: 5-12

Cost: Members $7; Nonmember $12 | Min 5, Max 12

Art Core: Cityscape Murals

Superheroes Night Out

Looking for a parent’s night out but want your child/children to have a fun night, too? Look no further! Bring your little superheroes for dinner, a movie, activities and exclusive museum time to explore the Caped Crusaders and Everyday Heroes exhibit in this drop-off program. Parents can take advantage of Downtown Mesa’s 2nd Friday event for food, art and entertainment. Pre-registration is required and limited. *Children must be toilet trained.

Ages: 4+

Cost: $20 per child | Min 6, Max 20

 

Homeschool Historians: Mary Cassatt
