Please note: All troops must observe the safety and activity check point guidelines.

GIRL SCOUT CHAPERONES AND ANY ACCOMPANYING SIBLINGS WILL BE REQUIRED TO PAY $8 ON THE DAY OF THE WORKSHOP. THE $8 FEE, COLLECTED AT THE FRONT DESK UPON CHECK-IN, WILL INCLUDE ADMISSION TO THE WORKSHOP AND THE DAY'S ADMISSION TO THE MUSEUM GALLERIES. SIBLINGS ACCOMPANYING THE CHAPERONES TO THE WORKSHOPS WILL NOT BE INCLUDED IN THE WORKSHOP ACTIVITIES AS SUPPLIES ARE PURCHASED FOR REGISTERED GIRL SCOUTS ONLY. TWO GIRL SCOUT TROOP LEADERS PER TROOP WILL BE ADMITTED FREE.

Badges are not furnished at the museum. You may purchase them through the Council Shop.

Brownie Painting Badge at i.d.e.a Museum

Grades 2-3 September 6, 2014 10:00AM-Noon

Have fun earning your Painting Badge by creating an outdoor landscape, portrait or still life painting.  Discover how artists can display emotion through the use of colors, lines and shapes. Work cooperatively to design a mural that celebrates the great tradition of the Girl Scout program! Then spend the rest of the day touring the museum featuring Bon Voyage! Art Goes on Vacation exhibition.

Please note: This event is not a drop-off event. Each girl or group will need to follow the chaperone ratios as directed by Girl Scout guidelines.

Daisy It’s Your World-Change It! Sunny Petal at the i.d.e.a. Museum

Grades K-1 September 13, 2014 10:00AM-11:00AM

Earn a Sunny petal by sharing the adventure of Sunny in her Daisy Flower Garden. Celebrate Sunny’s adventure by making a mural with your troop. Draw the many ways your troop can volunteer to be helpful at home, school and at Daisy meetings. Then spend the rest of the day touring the museum featuring Bon Voyage! Art Goes on Vacation exhibition.

Please note: This event is not a drop-off event, and each girl or group will need to follow the chaperone ratios as directed by Girl Scout guidelines.

Junior Girl Scout Badge Bonanzas at the i.d.e.a. Museum! Drawing Badge

Grades 4-5 October 4, 2014 9AM-Noon

Make your own masterpiece! Actively earn your Drawing badge in a Girl Scout-only environment.  Experiment with drawing tools and shades of color while putting these elements into perspective. Discover how artists express themselves through art.

Please note: This event is not a drop-off event, and each girl or group will need to follow the chaperone ratios as directed by Girl Scout guidelines.

Registration: Closes September 26, 2014

Fee: $15 members/nonmembers (Museum entrance for the day and workshop)

Brownie Bugs Badge at  i.d.e.a Museum! STEM Naturalist Workshop

Grades 2-3 October 11, 2014 10:00AM-Noon

Design a bug poster labeling your bug with information specific to its type. Before you arrive, research your favorite bug or choose from an assortment provided at the i.d.e.a. Museum! Let your imagination take flight and construct your own bug. Build and bring home an insect feeding station.  Become an entomologist by viewing the bugs that come seeking shelter and food. Then spend the rest of the day touring the museum featuring Jeepers Creepers: Bugs in Art exhibition.

Please note: This event is not a drop-off event, and each girl or group will need to follow the chaperone ratios as directed by Girl Scout guidelines.

Grades 2-3 December 6, 2014 10:00AM-Noon

Girls explore Science, Technology, Engineering and Math during this fun filled morning of investigating real-world problems. Examine various STEM skills to gain a new perspective on the world. Join us for fun and educational activities and by expressing thoughts verbally, in writing and artistically. From STEM to STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math).

Please note: This event is not a drop-off event, and each girl or group will need to follow the chaperone ratios as directed by Girl Scout guidelines.

Earn a Tula petal by learning about Tula’s courage and strength. Learn about courageous women in the arts. Create a work of art celebrating these women’s strengths despite the difficult journey they have encountered by making a collage about animals that exhibit these strong attributes.
