ARTVILLE is a town that is all about art and is recommended for ages 0-4. Tot Depot Square boasts a train, soft sculptures and an area just for crawlers to have their imaginations ignited. Experiment with gears, pixels, Legos and light boxes with cubes in the Wee Design Room. Perhaps you will play with puppets or act out a scene in the Performing Arts Center. Art Studio has an activity each day to try out (check schedule).
the HUB is a gallery with 11 different interactive areas to trigger your imagination and let your creativity loose. Create an artwork from recycled materials or design an item for our Atrium. Beamz lets you create your own music and Soundspace encourages body movement to explore forest sounds. Face Frames provides opportunities to create your own eyeglasses while learning about the science of sight. If you like to problem-solve, try Odyssey Café or the Career Lounge. Don’t forget to drop everything and doodle or create a masterpiece in iArt. Discover the important innovations that changed our world and leave your thoughts on inventions at Me & My Big Idea. Our Tech Table will elicit giggles if you choose to play its games.
The WHITEMAN FAMILY EXHIBITION GALLERY showcases three exhibitions annually that are created on-site and emphasize a specific theme. Since we do not have a collection, we display objects created by artists, and borrow them from collectors or other museums. There are always lots of interactives to accompany the items displayed.
The BLACKLIGHT ROOM is a fan favorite. Experience a glow in the dark space and exercise your imagination, no matter what’s inside.
The ATRIUM is an outdoor area open for visitors to picnic, relax and enjoy self-guided educational activities. Many special events are held here. (Closed from May-August due to heat.)
