WHY CREATIVITY MATTERS  > >

  •

How does i.d.e.a. Museum inspire creativity and imagination in kids/families?

    Why Creativity Matters?

Creativity and imagination are sparked through original art exhibitions and art-inspired, engaging and FUN hands-on multi-discipline activities!

    This matters because:

In order for children to be competitive in a global economy as working professionals in the future, no matter their vocation, even as moms/dads, they will need the ability to think critically and solve problems creatively.

Fostering creativity within a child, especially at an early age, makes it part of the fabric of their being. By thinking creatively they will have a greater capacity to produce innovative concepts and ideas throughout their life.

Their cognitive function (their ability to think and reason) increases. Their ability to assume multiple perspectives and understanding also increases.

One’s ability to understand concepts in math, science, engineering, technology (S.T.E.M.), history, geography and others disciplines occurs more easily and in a more comprehensive manner when linked with and explored through, or in combination with art.

The essential development of their fine and gross motor skills are supported through exposure to artistic materials and activities.

A child’s reading comprehension is strengthened and their vocabulary increases, while visual literacy is promoted through the arts.

Positive self-expression is bolstered during quality time with family/care-givers.
