When did you start working at the i.d.e.a. Museum and what is your role here?
I started working at the i.d.e.a. Museum in 2007 as the only development staff person. I am now the development manager. I work with the i.d.e.a. Museum Foundation and museum staff to provide opportunities for individuals, foundations, businesses, corporations and charitable groups to make a difference in the lives of children and families by supporting early learning, nurturing creativity, providing quality moments for families and opportunities for those financially challenged to have access to the museum.  I am extremely grateful for our amazing donors, sponsors, funders, supporters, staff and volunteers. Their gifts of treasure, talent and time help make it possible to have a positive impact on the community.

Share some of your responsibilities in your role.
I‘m responsible for helping build relationships for long-term sustainability, connecting supporters and partners in ways that are valuable, meaningful and resonate with them, while supporting the goals of the museum. With the executive director and foundation, we plan, develop, coordinate all philanthropic and fundraising opportunities, including support of annual event, grants, sponsorships, annual and major gifts.

What do you love most about working at the i.d.e.a. Museum and the work you do?
I love getting to know so many wonderful and generous people (funders) who are helping make a lasting difference for kids and families through art, creativity and imagination!

What is your all-time favorite i.d.e.a. Museum exhibit?
That is really difficult because there are have been so many fantastic exhibitions over the years, and so many personal family memories tied to them as well. I guess I would have to say Jim Henson’s Fantastic World because I got to see a childhood “friend,” Kermit the Frog, alongside my (then) 2-year old daughter.

When you’re not at the museum, you are…
Raising my family. I also lead a free, fun, monthly “Family Experience” at Via Church where the community comes together to laugh and learn through comedy sketches, music, and games.

What is your favorite piece of art or who is your favorite artist?
I really love the sculptures by South African artist, Dominic Benhura.
