Come to the i.d.e.a. Museum this weekend for some fun quality time. The museum will show a special movie on Friday, April 19, and offer some creative activities during Easter on Sunday, April 21.

While schools are closed on Friday for the Spring holiday, the museum will hold a special screening of Disney’s The Jungle Book. The movie begins at 10 a.m. and is free with museum admission, which is $9 for ages 1 and older and free for members.

Afterward, children and their caregivers are encouraged to explore the museum’s current exhibition, Junkyard Jungle, where they can learn about rainforests and recycling. Activities include making collages of wild beasts and butterflies, exploring the black light rainforest and enjoying imaginary play as biologists, entomologists, zoologists and ecologists.

Additionally, visitors may experience more hands-on learning while visiting ArtVille (a socks-only space for ages 4 and young) and the HUB Gallery. Activities include creating music in In Harmony (part of Soundscape), building a new invention on Rigamajig, doodling in iArt, acting on ArtVille’s Performing Arts Center and much more.

On Easter, the museum will open during regular hours – 12 p.m. – 4 p.m. – so families may include the museum as part of their plans.

Exhibitions throughout the museum feature fun, hands-on activities that support learning, nurture creative thinking and engage families in quality time together.
