We’ve opened up our ticket reservations to our entire community. General admission tickets are available 2 weeks in advance. Find your timed tickets here: https://my.mesaaz.gov/3mzvMmf
We continue to operate at limited capacity. Timed admissions are currently available for 10 a.m., 12 p.m. and 2 p.m. Thursdays through Saturdays and 12 p.m. and 2 p.m. on Sundays. Closed Monday through Wednesday and most holidays.
We are strongly encouraging online reservations for members and guests to ensure admission into the museum. We are busiest at 10 a.m. We don’t want to disappoint anyone visiting, since we are limiting the number of guests in the museum to allow for social distancing. Once we reach capacity, we cannot accommodate walk-ins.
Members, you must be logged into your account to access your admission benefits while making a reservation. Please check our FAQs related to our reopening here: https://www.ideamuseum.org/faqs-preparing-for-your-visit/
Deals and discount passes
We are offering a “Welcome Back” special admission price of $4.50 per person ages 1 and up for a limited time. Our regular admission price is $9 per person ages 1 and up.
At this time, we are not accepting any free passes or applying coupons to our special reopening deal. Members are always free.
Also, visitors with EBT cards may still reserve admission through our Museums for All program, which allows up to 6 members of your family to attend for $2 per person. Please be prepared to show your EBT card when you arrive.
We will keep you posted when we again accept coupons and passes. Thanks for your patience.
Know Before You Go
We’re open at a limited capacity, so we strongly encourage purchasing tickets in advance. We’re currently showing Art of the Story – where visitors can explore the art of storytelling – in the Whiteman Family Exhibition Gallery. For little ones 4 and younger, check out ArtVille – a socks-only space that encourages imaginative play and supports early learning. Plus, check out the HUB Gallery, with hands-on activities that nurtures creative thinking for all ages.
Mask wearing continues to be required in City of Mesa buildings, including the i.d.e.a. Museum. All persons ages 6 and older must wear masks, and we’re recommending children between ages 2-6 also wear face coverings for the health and wellness of all our guests. Masks must cover the nose and mouth and be worn for the entire duration of your visit. Learn more about what to expect by watching this video below:
In addition, starting on Thursday, Nov. 12 – to continue to reduce infection and to provide added peace of mind to our visitors – the museum will begin touchless temperature screening before admitting visitors to the galleries. If a patron has a temperature of 100.4 F or greater, they will not be allowed entry to the galleries. In that instance, a full refund will be provided to the visitor and anyone in his party who chooses not to enter.
Please look over our museum admission policy to learn more about changes at the museum.
