Impact Report

What We Achieved Together

At the idea Museum, every milestone is made possible by the support of our community. This past year, we reached more families, expanded access, and sparked creativity in new and exciting ways. Here’s a look at the impact we created together.

Welcoming More Families Than Ever

  • 110,000+ children and families experienced the museum, even with a four-month renovation closure.
  • When our doors reopened, families came back in record numbers — with March and June each drawing 18,000 visitors, the highest monthly attendance in our history. We’re on track to serve around 140,000 children and their families this year.
  • Membership grew to 3,000+ households, a 50% increase from the previous year.

Expanding Access for All

  • Nearly 30% of our visitors came through access programs such as Access Memberships, free admission events, and Museums for All.
  • We are on track this year to serve 50,000 children and families facing financial hardship or other obstacles to participation — ensuring that every child has the opportunity to imagine, explore, and create.
  • We piloted and will continue offering inclusive community resource fairs, connecting families of neurodiverse learners with vital support and opening our doors free of charge

Inspiring Creativity and Innovation

  • We launched the idea Lab, a hands-on creative hub co-designed with local artists and supported by Meta.
  • We expanded hands-on programming across the museum, giving families more opportunities to connect with the arts and dive into creative experiences that spark curiosity and build lasting memories.
  • We doubled our creative camp offerings, giving even more children access to immersive, hands-on learning experiences.
  • Exhibitions such as JoyRide: Art on Wheels and public art projects sparked curiosity and creativity for visitors of all ages, even when we are closed

Strengthening Our Identity and Future

  • We unveiled a refreshed brand identity that highlights our core values of creativity, curiosity, and connection. A new family-friendly website is launching soon to make it even easier to access resources.
  • We prepared for the future with plans for Phase 2 of our renovation and the exciting journey toward our 50th anniversary
